A cyclist with Race Across America was flown to the hospital after colliding with a vehicle, Wednesday night.
It happened along Route 50 near Morgan's Run Road in Doddridge County. Authorities on scene wouldn't release many details, but they did say the driver of the vehicle somehow hit the cyclist and they're investigating how this happened.
A witness reached out to us and said the vehicle hit the cyclist from behind. The guide vehicle, the car/van that follows the cyclist as they travel, was not with the biker at the time, according to the witness. The witness said it had stopped for gas. The witness claims the cyclist was from Denmark.
The name and condition of the cyclist has not been released. Route 50 has since reopened. Stick with 5 News for the latest information.
